What ingredient research can and cannot tell you
A study on saw palmetto, iodine or a seaweed does not establish that the finished Prostadine formula has the same effect. Finished-product efficacy depends on dose, formulation, population and study design.
Saw palmetto evidence
NCCIH notes that many studies have evaluated saw palmetto for urinary symptoms associated with prostate enlargement and concludes that saw palmetto is probably not helpful for that purpose. That is important context when evaluating prostate-supplement marketing.
Iodine deserves special attention
Iodine is an essential nutrient needed for thyroid hormone production, but excess iodine can also affect thyroid function in susceptible people. The current label provides 275 mcg per serving, so people with thyroid disease or iodine-sensitive conditions should discuss use with a clinician.
